We often look at nature for inspiration. It’s how we got velcro and sharkskin-like swimming suits. But it is not a oneway street. Sometimes, we may actually learn about nature by something we build ourselves. Researchers at the TU Delft have built a very agile, energy-efficient and lightweight drone that actually teaches us about how those darn fruit flies manage to sabotage our attempts at swatting them.
